Inclusive Education

We strengthen inclusive education by training teachers in inclusive pedagogy, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Bilingual Deaf Education, and Braille. This equips teachers with the skills to support all learners, including children with disabilities and other special educational needs, to participate, learn, and succeed in inclusive classroom settings.

Empowering children and youth with disabilities

We support children and youth with disabilities to reach their full potential by enhancing their skills, confidence, and independence. Through inclusive education, life skills training, mentorship, and opportunities for social participation, we help them actively engage in their families, schools, and communities.

Family empowerment

We empower families to understand disability and inclusion, child protection, and safeguarding. We also provide early Rwandan Sign Language training for Deaf children and their family members, strengthening communication, learning, and inclusion from an early age. We provide livestock to help families start the path toward poverty reduction and improved livelihoods, while also training them to use manure effectively to increase agricultural yields and strengthen household food security.

Social Behaviour Change

We raise awareness in communities about disability and the rights of people with disabilities. Through community engagement, education, and advocacy, we promote inclusion, reduce stigma, and encourage positive attitudes and behaviors that support children and youth with disabilities.
